ORTHOsoft® Total Hip Navigation SystemAllows surgeons to initiate surgery in lateral |

Limping is one of the most frustrating persistent symptoms after hip arthroplasty for both the patient and surgeon and this is due primarily to leg-length inequality. This can lead to anger, litigation, morbidity, and ultimately revision surgery. In fact, some studies show that up to 28% may have a leg length difference of >10mm using a conventional surgical technique.(1) Moreover, it is recognized that several surgeons prefer performing their hip replacement in decubitus. However, in this position, they cannot compare directly the length of both extremities during the operation. This is where the use of navigation becomes even more essential.
