ORTHOsoft® Unicondylar Knee Navigation System

Combines innovation & reliability

Unicondylar knee surgery can sometimes be challenging for implant alignment.

Computer-navigation provides a better chance to
reach position 0’ (range of deviation -1.0°-1.9°) compared with the conventional technique (range
of deviation: -2.0°-4.0°).(1)

Unicondylar knee surgery allows:

  • To perform minimally invasive surgery, thus tissue damage is minimal and ligaments are preserved
  • To operate younger, healthier patients
  • The patient to potentially recuperate full range of movement. He should potentially be able to squat and sit cross-legged
  • Post operative hospitalization to likely be reduced to two days. It would then enable the patient to return to normal life faster than for a TKR

“Computer-assisted navigation offers better visualization when calibrating the axis and can help to avoid overcorrection. Therefore, computer navigation seems to be useful feature in improving implantation techniques, long-term results, and patient outcomes.”(1)

Combining innovation and reliability, this New ORTHOsoft navigation solution offers numerous benefits to both surgeons and patients.

For the surgeon:

  • It is the world’s first application on the market to provide final alignment outcome prediction in real-time right before the cuts are performed
  • It overcomes the challenges in implant alignment
  • It offers alternate workflows to support different implant philosophies (cut based or resurfacing)
  • It has been specially designed to help reduce operative time

For the patient:

  • It permits shorter rehabilitation time due to MIS and bone stock preservation

For the hospital & healthcare provider:

  • Speed of recovery and psychosocial variables associated with being ill may have a large effect on hospital & overall healthcare costs.(2)
  • Navigation is recognized to reduce hospital stay which may lead to increased hospital profitability.
