What is an Internship?
The Zimmer Internship is a partnership with an advanced student or recent graduate to undergo supervised practical training. It is intended to prepare these students to gain valuable exposure to their field of study prior to entering the workforce in a regular employment capacity. An internship typically entails one summer work experience.
What is Cooperative Education?
The Zimmer Cooperative Education Program is a partnership with various educational institutions that allow students to alternate between semesters of coursework with semesters of work experience. It is intended to allow current students to gain valuable work experience during their time in college and the workplace. Our vision is to identify and develop future Zimmer employees by helping students apply formal education through on the job experiences. To provide students with an opportunity to apply academic concepts to actual work experiences. Our mission is to train students to become effective employees, to become a part of the Zimmer team, and assist in Zimmer’s endeavor to develop, produce, and globally market the highest quality orthopaedic products and services that repair, replace, and regenerate.

What Do Former Interns Think?
|
Completing an internship with Zimmer was one of the best experiences
of my college career. It provided me an opportunity to explore a
career interest in marketing and network with many professionals. Not
only did I gain mentors in the field of marketing, I obtained a
full-time position with Zimmer as an Associate Product Manager soon
after graduation. The opportunity that was afforded to me as an intern
still plays a role today in my position with Zimmer and it solidified
what a great company Zimmer is to work for. |
|
My intern experience at Zimmer was satisfying in many regards.
Visibility to strategic decision making, tactical implementation and
organizational processes were highlighted. Experience derived from a
multi-billion dollar organization and industry powerhouse bridged the
gap from “classroom to real-world application” and opened the door for
a rewarding career. |
